Before you sign it off

For work that’s nearly there.

An experienced, independent creative review at the final stage.

The work is strong and the intention is clear, but something isn’t quite landing yet. By this point everyone involved knows the material too well, feedback starts to circle, and it gets harder to tell which decisions still matter. This review is for exactly that moment: before release, while clarity, pacing and emotional emphasis can still be shaped.

What it is

A focused, one-off assessment of a near-finished film or piece of content. I watch it as a first-time viewer and respond to how it plays: where it connects, where it drifts, and where meaning or momentum starts to drop.

The aim isn’t to reopen the process or bring in new ideas. It’s to help you make the final decisions with confidence, so the work lands as intended.

What you get

A clear, independent view at the point when it’s hardest to find one yourself.

Written feedback that is practical and specific: what’s working, what isn’t, and why, with suggestions you can apply straight away. There’s no obligation to revise and no expected follow-up. You decide what to take forward.

Who it’s for

Experienced creatives, producers and teams who care about the work and want it to land properly, whether that’s a film, a branded piece or long-form content.

It’s less suited to projects in early development, or if you’re looking for hands-on editing as part of the review. If editing support would help more, we can talk about that separately.

How it works

  1. You share a near-finished cut.

  2. I review it independently.

  3. You receive clear, considered feedback.

  4. You decide what to do next.

It’s kept simple and time-limited on purpose. It’s there to help you decide, not to add another round.

An editor’s eye

The notes come from someone who solves these problems for a living. When something isn’t landing, I can usually tell you whether it’s the structure, the pacing, a shot held too long or the music working against the picture, and what I’d try first.

After thirteen years of finishing films for brands and agencies, I keep the suggestions to things you can do in the edit you already have.
